Jessie Allen Ewing

Jessie Allen Ewing, age 80, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on September 17, 2020, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St, Paul, Kansas. Jessie was born July 13, 1940, in Moran, Kansas, to Leonard Ewing and Myrtle (Radcliff) Ewing.

Jessie attended school in Blue Mound, Kansas. He and Beverly Jean Malloy were married on September 11, 1961, in Iola, Kansas. They were married 49 years before Beverly passed on May 7, 2011.

Jessie worked on the family farm and did haying in his younger years. He took a job for a few years as an electrician with the City of Iola. Jessie then went to work for the Rural Electric Cooperative and later for Heartland Rural Electric as a lineman and journeyman, and he retired after 30 years of service.

Jessie and Beverly loved to travel, fish, and hunt. Jessie could out-fish Bevie, but could not out-hunt her! Jessie was dearly loved by his family and he will be missed.

Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents; infant daughter, Teresa; grandson, Trevor Ewing; sister, Myra Grizzle; and half-brother, Floyd Ewing.

Jessie is survived by daughter, Rhonda Ingraham and husband, Larry, Chanute, Kansas; sons, Keith Ewing and wife, Janet, Buffalo, Kansas, Kevin Ewing, Wichita, Kansas, Kelly Ewing, Humboldt, Kansas, grandchildren, Tyler Ewing, Laney Ewing, Hunter Ewing, Drake Ewing, Liz Ingraham, Sam Ingraham, great-grandchildren, Grahm Ewing, Adaline Ewing, Onika Baker, Fisher Lawrence; brother, Eddie Ewing, Chanute, Kansas; sister, Uhla Mae Spurgeon, Chanute, Kansas; and many other relatives.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway, Iola, Kansas. Burial will be at a later date in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
