Jimmie Jones

Jimmie Lee Jones, 71, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Via Christi Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita. Jimmie was born May 3, 1942, in Bixby, Oklahoma, the son of Dibriel Ellis and Mandy Mahaley (Taylor) Jones. He and Judy Kay Green were married March 17, 1961 and they made their home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and later divorced. In 1974, Jimmie and Evelyn Yokum Scott were married and they made their home in Chanute. He worked 17 years at Neosho Paper Products in Chanute before retiring. They moved to Iola in 1994. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: His wife: Evelyn Jones of the home 4 Sons: Dennis Jones, Tracy Jones and Jacob Jones all of Iola, and Mark Scott of LaHarpe 5 Daughters: Deborah Gallagher of Chanute, Tana Lowe, Nancy Craft and Mahaley Jones all of Iola, and Terry Stipp of Thayer 27 Grandchildren & 16 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant son, James Lee Jones. VISITATION: 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. MEMORIAL MASS: 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 (please note the date) at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola.
