Jim D. Maloney, age 70, of Iola, Kansas, passed away July 26, 2023, at Medicalodges of Iola, Iola, Kansas. Jim was born November 2, 1952, in Iola, Kansas, to Joe Maloney and Helen (Gregory) Maloney.
Jim graduated Iola High School and then attended some college at Allen County Community College. Jim grew-up building houses with his brothers, then he managed a Sonic drive-in in Kansas City for several years before going to work as a carpenter for Diebolt Lumber for 32 years.
Jim was a single dad who raised his two children. He loved to play pool, drink beer, and car shows. Jim enjoyed his 1969 Camaro. He liked carpentry and building things with his hands.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leon Maloney, Joe Maloney.
Jim is survived by son, Jimmie (Lisa) Maloney, Iola, Kansas; daughter, Candace Maloney, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Ashley Phillips, Xavier Cary, Ethan Tavarez, Leeann Maloney, Jimmie Maloney, Jr., Travis Maloney, Jessica Maloney; great-grandchildren, Ryker Phillips, Kason Phillips; brothers, Earl (Janice) Maloney, Dale Maloney; sister, Diane (Chuck) Duckworth; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Covenant of Faith Christian Center, Iola, Kansas, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
