Jimmy McSwane

Jimmy C. McSwane, age 69, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at his home. He was born July 9, 1947, in Drytown, California, the son of Packer Greer (P.G.) and Florence (Parr) McSwane. He graduated from Amador County High School in Sutter Creek, California. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Jimmy married Pamela Gilmore on May 15, 1972, in Carson City, Nevada. This union was blessed with three sons, Mitchell, Michael, and Marcas. He worked for 35 years in the Laborers Union Local #1290, ending his career at Hayes Drilling in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arnold Seratte and Robert Seratte; one sister, Irene Brewer. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Pamela McSwane, of the home; three sons, Mitchell McSwane and wife Rosanna of Nebraska City, Nebraska; Michael McSwane of Garnett, Kansas; Marcas McSwane and wife Arveca of Osawatomie, Kansas; Twelve grandchildren, soon to be thirteen; one brother, John McSwane and wife Hilda of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Jean Crain of Ione, California.
