Joan Louise Warren, age 80, of Lone Elm, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Windsor Place in Iola, Kansas. Joan was born on November 4, 1932, at Lone Elm, the daughter of Carl and Bernice (Jones) Kulp. She was a lifetime resident of Anderson County, living most of her life in the Lone Elm area. In 1951 Joan graduated from the Chillicothe Business School with a degree in Stenography. On November 25, 1954 Joan was united in marriage to Robert O. Warren, at Lone Elm, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons. They made their first home on a farm west of Garnett, living there for a couple of years before moving to their farm near Lone Elm. Joan worked as a teller at the Garnett State Savings Bank and the Kansas State Bank in Garnett before going to work at the State Bank of Colony. Following her years at the bank Joan enjoyed her time as a homemaker and mother as well as helping Robert with the farm. Joan enjoyed tole painting, quilting, and tending her flowers. She was particularly fond of her violets and irises. Joan spent many hours researching the Warren and Kulp family's genealogy. She and Robert enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Iola Red Hots. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert O. Warren on December 16, 2008. She is survived by her sons, David Warren and wife Karen of Lone Elm; Rodney Warren and wife Sandra of Chanute; two grandsons, David A. Warren and wife Sue of Iola, Phillip Warren of Lone Elm; three great-grandchildren, Robert, Alex, and Elizabeth Warren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, 204 E. 4th, Colony, Kansas 66015. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lone Elm Community Building Fund. Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com .
