Joe Lee Sinclair, 74, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. Joe Lee was born August 7, 1940, in Iola, the son of Jodie E. and V. Irene (Malloy) Sinclair. He grew up in Iola and served in the U.S. Navy. On November 29, 1958, Joe married Berneta Chaney. They made their home in Iola until moving to Collinsville, Illinois. Joe owned and trained thoroughbred horses. They retired to Lake Tahoe, California. Berneta preceded him in death in 2000 and he moved to Iola. SURVIVORS: His Companion: Lila Baker of Iola, KS 2 Sons: Jodie Lee Sinclair of Chicago, IL, and Nathan Wade Sinclair of Florida 1 Sister: Grace Wools & husband, Ray of Kincaid, KS 4 Brothers: Harry Sinclair, Art Sinclair and Paul Sinclair & wife, Roberta all of Iola, and Jim Sinclair & wife, Donna of Calvin, OK Many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a special great-niece, Mitia Thomas. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION & GRAVESIDE INURNMENT: The family will host a visitation from 11:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Community Building at Riverside Park in Iola. Graveside services will be at 2:00p.m. in Highland Cemetery.
