Joel Barentine

Joel Chester Barentine, age 97, of Pleasanton, Kansas, passed away December 26, 2023, at Olathe Medical Center, with his son by his side.
Joel was born on November 14, 1926, to Charlie and Lessie (Vermillion) Barentine, of Beebe, Arkansas, the sixteenth youngest of seventeen children.
Joel was united in marriage to Dorothy Arlene Bennett on January 19, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas. This union was blessed with six children.
He was a very hard worker. From the age of six, Joel worked on the three family farms. He was a grain miller for 20 years in Kansas City, Kansas.
Joel and his son Larry were inseparable for all their lives. Larry spent countless hours caring for both parents.
Joel is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years; children, Norma Jean, Harry Lee, Charles Jr., Joel Jr. and Gary Lee.
Joel is survived by his son, Larry; and their puppies, Susie, Katie Bear, Grizzly Bear; and step-daughter, Shirley Alderman.

Cremation will take place, there are no scheduled services at this time.
