John Drayton Williams, 43, of Iola, Kansas, drowned Saturday, June 22, 2013, while fishing at Neosho Falls, Kansas. John was born April 21, 1970, at Port Lavaca, Texas, the son of James Lee and Mary Lynn (Loveall) Williams. He grew up in the Independence, Missouri area and lived in Kincaid, Kansas before moving to Iola a couple of years ago. He operated a tow truck for a period of time. He was an avid fisherman. John had three children with Kellie Coate and later married Jennifer Epting. He was engaged to Sarah Mueller when she preceded him in death. SURVIVORS: Wife: Jennifer 1 Son: Drayton Williams of Iola, KS 2 Daughters: Cynthia Williams of Buckner, MO and Mikayla Williams of Independence, MO 5 Step-Sons: Noe Fuentez, Miguel Epting, Dalton Peterson, Darrin Hill, Jr. and Tylor Hill all of Iola, KS 2 Step-Daughters: Talia Epting and Angel Boan both of Iola, KS His Mother: Mary Williams of Kincaid, KS 3 Brothers: Jeff Williams of Buckner, MO, Joe Williams of Blue Springs, MO and J.R. Williams of Kincaid, KS 1 Sister: Heather Williams of Buckner, MO His Grandmother: Kathryn Dodd of Buckner, MO He was preceded in death by his father. FUNERAL SERVICE: 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Cremation will follow the services.
