Johnna R. Culver, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at her home.
She was born November 13, 1940, in Oleney, Texas, the daughter of Beryl and Olive
(Cooper) Teague. Johnna graduated from Balmorhea High School in Balmorhea, Texas
with the Class of 1958 and attended one year at McMurry College in Abilene, Texas.
Johnna married Bob Culver, on June 3, 1960, in Balmorhea, Texas. This union was
blessed with two daughters, Jeanette and Carolyn.
Throughout her career, she worked at numerous financial institutions, including Farmer’s
State Bank in Lueders, Texas, Eastside National in Wichita, Kansas, finishing up at
Kansas State Bank which is now Patriots Bank, in Garnett for 44 years.
Over the years Johnna enjoyed square dancing, gardening, fishing, helping with 4-H
projects, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joanna Fears and Cheryl Ryalls.
Johnna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bob Culver, of the home; two daughters,
Jeanette Baker and husband Bernie, Carolyn Risley and husband Kevin, all of Emporia,
Kansas; four grandchildren, Jacob and Conner Baker, Haley and Hana Risley; one sister,
Betty Bates of Kaufman, Texas;
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at
Centerville Community Church, Centerville, Kansas. The family will greet friends on
Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel
in Garnett.
