Johnny Lee Howey, age 33, of Colony, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home. He was born on October 26, 1975, at Topeka, Kansas, the son of William A. Howey and Mary Ann Dinwiddie. John was united in marriage to Cristal Headrick at Eldon, Missouri on May 19, 1997. He worked as a carpenter. John enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert Howey. He is survived by his wife, Cristal Howey of the home; his stepson Justin Headrick; his mother Mary Ann Peterson and husband Ken of Prattville, Alabama; his father Bill Howey and wife Pam of Topeka, Kansas; grandmothers, Irene Dinwiddie and grandfather Max of Topeka, Kansas; Betty L. Helms and husband George of Osage City, Kansas; Carolyn and James Peterson of Osage City; brother Chris Howey and wife Angela of Garnett, Kansas; sisters Tonya Tregellas and husband Blake of Topeka, Kansas; Brandi Brown and husband Robert of Topeka, Kansas; step brothers Bryson Helm of Topeka, Kansas; Brent Helm and wife Crystal of Topeka, Kansas; step sister Brandi Noonan and husband Nicholas of Burlingame, Kansas; his uncles Michael Dinwiddie and wife Deanna of Topeka, Kansas; Pat Dinwiddie and wife Lisa of Maple Hill, Kansas; Michael Howey and wife Beverly of Riverton, Wyoming; his aunts Debbie and Jody Jackson of Osage City, Kansas; Linda and Ford Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona; Kathy Munoz and husband Derik of Lawrence, Kansas; his mother-in-law Marie Headrick of Gardner, Kansas; sisters-in-law Jennifer Gilbreth of Gardner, Kansas; Sandy Johnston of Richmond, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends following a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
