Joseph Thomas Boserman, Jr., age 100, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Parkview Heights, Garnett, Kansas. Joe was born on February 5, 1917, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Joseph Thomas and Mary Agnes Boserman. Joe was a lifelong resident of Garnett, a town that loved him dearly. Joe was a welder up until 2007. He loved telling stories of the past, and all the friends he had over the years. He especially loved reminiscing of his days of service in the Army. Joe was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. He attended the Academic Regiment Infantry School. Joe was an automotive mechanic instructor at Service School Infantry TIS in Fort Benning. Joe was a Sargent who received numerous medals during his service; the American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Good conduct Medal. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Thomas Boserman and Mary Agnes Boserman; and his brother, William Harrison Boserman. Joe is survived by his sister, Mary Christy of Greenwood, Missouri; niece, Vicki Miller and husband Steve Miller of Greenwood, Missouri; nephew, Earl Christy of Melbourne, Australia; three great nieces, Christy Wright of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Lyndsey Phillips of Greenwood, Missouri, and Stephanie Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; two great great nephews, Jace and Lucas Phillips. He will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, with burial following in the Garnett Cemetery.
