Joseph Haen

Joseph "Jody" Charles Haen, age 72, passed away at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, on December 10, 2024.

Jody was born on October 8, 1952, to Frank and Margaret (Kipp) Haen. After high school, Jody attended Emporia State University and earned a degree in computer science.

Jody worked for an underground cable company in Austin, Texas for eight years, with his brother. In 1991, Jody married his love, Cyndi Adkins. After a few years, Jody and Cyndi came back to Kansas and made their home at Mound City, Kansas. Once back in Kansas, Jody worked at Gates Manufacturing for 25 years, before retiring from the company.

Jody loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He liked to go arrowhead hunting around the area. His home and land were his happy place and where he enjoyed to spend time.

Jody was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Haen.

He is survived by his wife; brothers, Jim Haen and Jerry Haen; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Martin's Oratory in Piqua, Kansas. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will take place just before the service, at 9:30 AM, for those that wish to join. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF) and can be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
