Joy Gibson

Joy Rain Gibson, 53, of Westphalia, Kansas, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, Kansas. Joy was born June 14, 1958, in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of James Albert and Shirley Sue (Culver) Young. On May 9, 1974, Joy married Larry Gibson and they made their home in Arkansas for 20 years before moving to Westphalia in 1992. Joy worked several years as a dietary cook for Coffey Health Systems. She enjoyed making jewelry, reading and playing computer games. SURVIVORS: Her husband: Larry Gibson of the home 4 Sons: Mickey Gibson & wife, Andrea of Westphalia, Timothy Gibson & wife, Brandi of Westphalia, James Gibson & significant other, Julie of Westphalia, and Steven Gibson & significant other, Jessica of Westphalia, Kansas Mother: Shirley Young of Porterville, CA 1 Brother: Charlie Young of Topeka, KS 6 Sisters: Violet Saienni of Chanute, KS, Chris Wallace of St. Joseph, MO, Margaret Pike of Westville, OK, Tammy Lawson of Miami, OK, Shirley Kiziah of Ozawkie, KS and Kay Collins of Gas, KS 16 Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, James Young.
