Juanita Lee Burenheide, 91, of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at Fountain Villa in Iola. Juanita was born February 22, 1921, on a farm southwest of Moran, Kansas, the daughter of George W. and Ruth Esther (Rogers) Beaman. She grew up on the family farm and attended grade school at Prairie Hall southwest of Moran and graduated from LaHarpe High School. She attended Emporia State one year, then the College of Emporia, to receive her teaching certificate. She taught seven years, five in Lyon county and two in Chase county. On June 10, 1948, Juanita married Alfred H. Burenheide at Emporia, Kansas. They made their home on a farm southwest of Emporia. In 1951, they moved to a farm northwest of Elsmore, and in 1966, they moved to their farm southwest of LaHarpe. After he died in 1979, she moved to Iola in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: 5 Brothers: Charles Beaman of Topeka, KS, Kenneth Beaman of Gas, KS, Dennis Beaman of Spring Hill, KS, Reed Beaman of Santa Rosa, CA and David Beaman of Iola, KS 2 Sisters: Geneva Dixon of Quincy, IL and Shirley Stewart of Springfield, MO Caregivers: Jim & Barbie Daugharthy and family of Iola, KS A host of nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Vern Beaman and two sisters, Irene Beaman and Charlotte Montague. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Iola.
