Juanita Crouthers

Juanita V. Crouthers, 81, of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, August 27, 2010, at the Allen County Hospital. Juanita was born September 28, 1928, in Allen County, Kansas, the daughter of Rudolph Fred and Ellen Florence (Smoot) Scheer. She attended school in Gas City. On June 20, 1952, Juanita married Paul E. Crouthers and they made their home in Iola. She worked several years for the Middleton Market. Paul preceded her in death on April 21, 1991. In 1995 she moved to the Townhouse East where she lived until moving to Windsor Place when her health failed. Juanita was a life member of the LaHarpe V.F.W. Auxiliary, Moran American Legion Auxiliary and served on the Veteran's Day Committee. She enjoyed bingo, gardening and making peanut brittle. SURVIVORS: 1 Brother: Floyd Scheer and wife, Shirley of Iola, KS A number of nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronnie Lee Crouthers, 3 brothers, Glen, Bob "Bobby", and Franklin "Jack" Scheer and a sister, Maxine Trester. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola where the family will receive friends prior to the service.
