Juanita J. McHaley, 83, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Allen County Regional Hospital. Juanita was born September 19, 1932, in Iola, the daughter of George Glenn and Eva Almetta (Lee) Cuppy. She moved to Oklahoma City with her parents. On December 6, 1948 she married Norton Lushbough. They were married for 13 years and had three sons, Terry, Dennis and Gary Lushbough. Following their divorce, she returned to Iola. On December 19, 1964, she married Richard McHaley. They were married 32 years before he preceded her in death on January 20, 1998. Over the years, Juanita has worked at Hart's Lunch, M and M Packing Company, H.L. Miller and Son and she retired from Gates Rubber Company on Oct. 1, 1994. She enjoyed bowling. Her memberships include First Baptist Church, Goldenrod Chapter #163 Order of the Eastern Star of Yates Center and Wichita Assembly #8, Social Order of the Beauceant. Survivors include two sons, Terry Lushbough and wife, Caryn of Iola, and Dennis Lushbough and wife, Angela of Iola, adopted daughter Sherry Russell of Springdale, Arkansas, a sister, Wanda Wilson and husband, Gary of Neosho Falls, grandchildren, Dennis Lushbough, Jr. of Iola, Rochelle Schmitz and husband, Ryan of Carl Junction, MO, Jonathan Lushbough of LaHarpe, Derek Lushbough of Moore, OK, Rocky and Alex Smith of Iola, and Cherry Rivers and Denise Klun of Wichita; great grandchildren, Lori Ann and Andrew Lushbough, Moore, OK, Matthew and Addison Schmitz of Carl Junction, MO, and Sally and Brennon Lushbough of Webb City, MO.. She was preceded in death by her son Gary Lushbough and wife, Lori Lushbough, 3 brothers, Glen, Richard and Donald Cuppy, and 1 sister, Doris Mapes. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Iola Township Cemetery a mile east of Piqua, Kansas.
