Julia "Judy" Lutz, age 91, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012, at the Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility in Garnett, Kansas. She was born on July 7, 1920, in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of Reese and Grace (Hardin) Marker. Judy was united in marriage to Leroy George "Roy" Lutz on May 14, 1941, at Westphalia, Kansas. This union was blessed with two daughters. In the early years of their marriage Judy helped Roy on the farm. Judy drove a school bus for Mont Ida and Garnett Schools for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Judy enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardening. She canned many of the things she grew. She will be remembered for her pies, and her cooking. Judy and Roy enjoyed attending the Saturday night dances at Paola and the time spent with their Card Club. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Lutz on June 25, 1995; four brothers, Roger, Russell, Clarence and Bill; and three sisters, Helen Jones; Ethel Bazil; and Mary Henkle. She is survived by two daughters; Patty Davis and husband Bill of Overland Park, Kansas; Erma Craig and husband Darrel of Lawrence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Darla Tanner, Dawn Davis, Todd Oswald, Mike Oswald, and Lisa Miller; ten great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett.
