Julia Mae Kipper, age 92, of Garnett, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. She was born August 29, 1920, in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil and Viola Belle (Huff) Fisher. Her parents were of Irish descent, both born and raised in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Julia went to school at Irving Grade school until the 8th grade. In 1978 she furthered her education by obtaining her General Education Degree. Julia worked at Hallmark Cards until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Garnett V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and she was a 4-H Leader for the Tom Creek Hustlers in the Mont Ida Community. She worked with the Tri-Co adults in Garnett. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Viola Fisher; husband, Jerry Kipper; son, Donald Perkins; brothers, Earl Fisher; Joe Fisher; Jack Fisher; Junior Fisher; and Robert Fisher; sisters, Opal Cleary; Marguerite Roth; Mildred McKinley; and Annabelle Buck; and grandson, Brian Katzer. She is survived by her daughter, Linda and husband Virgil of Garnett, Kansas; grandchildren, Ron Katzer of Denver, Colorado; Farrah Katzer of St. Louis, Missouri; Kurt Katzer and wife Angela of Garnett, Kansas; and five great grandchildren, Brandon, Blaine, Lakin, Reece, and Paige. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Garnett Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garnett V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
