Junior Kenneth Gordon, age 82, of Colony, Kansas, died May 24, 2008 at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett, Kansas. He was born January 3, 1926 in Dewey, Oklahoma, the son of Edward Devere and Lola Maude (Houser) Gordon. He graduated from Independence High School in Independence, Kansas and joined the Air Force during WWII. He was a tailgunner and radio operator in WWII. He was called up to the Army for the Korean War. He married Phyllis Owen on August 24, 1948 at Bentonville, Arkansas. This union was blessed with two children. J. K. was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lola Gordon; one son, Rick Gordon in 1998; a son-in-law, Steve Gillaspie in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gordon, of the home; one daughter, Connie Gillaspie of Carmel, Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Sheri Gordon of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sewing; Janelle Celano; Tyler Gillaspie; and Cameron Gillaspie; and five great grandchildren. Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Colony, Kansas.
