Lucille Katherine Landwehr Hermreck, age 88, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away with family present on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Anderson County Residential Living Center, Garnett.
She was born July 19, 1932, in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of A.G. (Ollie) and Lenora (Kratzberg) Landwehr.
Katherine graduated from Greeley High School with the Class of 1951, where she was class secretary. She worked a short time at a sewing factory and then at Greeley Bank.
Katherine attended St. John's Catholic Church that had youth clubs that sponsored socials and at one of these dances she met Roy Hermreck and did they love to dance! Katherine married Roy Hermreck on October 18, 1954 at St. John's Catholic Church, Greeley.
After they married Katherine quit her job at the bank and started their family, three sons, Leon, Neil and Keith, and one daughter, Kathy Lynn.
Throughout her life, she kept busy with her gardening and canning, and her large flower garden. She taught herself to crochet and embroidery and for many years was in charge of the "fancy stand" at the Scipio bazaar's, where she donated many items. She was also one of the best pie maker's in the neighborhood. One of her biggest joys were her nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Lenora Landwehr; one sister, Trudy Rockers; two brothers, Dennis and Ed Landwehr; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hermreck.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Roy Hermreck of the home; three sons, Leon Hermreck and wife Donna; Neil Hermreck, Keith Hermreck and wife Patricia Wittry, all of Garnett; one daughter, Kathy Croucher and husband Mike of Westphalia, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; one brother, J. Frank Landwehr and wife Lois; six sisters, Louann Hermreck, Mary Rickabaugh, Jeannette Gilner and husband Bob, Mona Farrell, Joyce Landwehr and Judy Schaefer.
A Wake Service and Rosary will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, Kansas. Katherine's family will greet friends following the Rosary.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, Kansas.
