Kathryn Mae Barnes, age 83, of Savonburg, Kansas, passed away August 28, 2023, at her home. Kathryn was born September 8, 1939, in Savonburg, Kansas, to Hans Peterson and Faye (Hufferd) Peterson.
Kathryn and William Perry "Babe" Barnes were married March 16, 1961, in Iola, Kansas. Kathryn worked as a waitress in Wichita, Kansas.
Kathryn liked butterflies and the color purple. She enjoyed soap operas and playing bingo.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Charlie Peterson; sister, Karen Heulett; and infant son, William Barnes, Jr.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Debra (Scott Pollock) Johnston, Savonburg, Kansas, Diana (Samuel) Reyes, Iola, Kansas, Jimmy Barnes; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Hans (Judy) Peterson, Wichita, Kansas; and sister, Ann Cox, Conway Springs, Kansas.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
