Kathryn Joan Tilman, 81, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Kathryn was born September 28, 1933, in Iola, the daughter of Lloyd E. and Dorothy B. (Baker) Morgan. She grew up in Kansas and Virginia and graduated from Iola High School in 1951. On September 23, 1951, Kathryn married Charles A. Tilman in Iola and they have made their home in Humboldt all of their married life. She worked for Humboldt U.S.D. 258 for 28 years, retiring in 1995. She loved being around children. Her memberships include the Humboldt United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School and served as youth leader, United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, Allen County Retired School Personnel, Allen County Hospital Auxiliary, Kappa Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and a lifetime member of N.E.A. SURVIVORS: Her husband of 63 years: Charles A. Tilman of the home 3 Children: Rita Jane Hill & husband, J.R. of Louden, TN, Chuck Tilman of Ottawa, KS and Jeff Tilman & wife, Gloria of Humboldt, KS 6 Grandchildren: Joshua Hill & wife, Melanie of Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer Taylor & husband, Jeff of Lenoir City, TN, Adam Tilman & wife, Shana of Broken Arrow, OK, Brad Tilman & wife, Evelyn of Oklahoma City, OK, Cara Thomas & husband, Tyler of Humboldt, KS and Drake Tilman of Fredonia, KS 8 Great Grandchildren: Tori, Sascha & Jaiden Taylor, Emilee, Austin & Samuel Hill, Tate & Jax Thomas 1 Brother: Lloyd "Jim" Morgan & wife, Shirley of Hale, MO Many cousins, nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Bob Morgan, Ruth Douglas and an infant brother.
