Kathy Spencer

Kathy Spencer passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her home in Iola. Kathy was born Oct. 25, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Bertha Burgherr and Paul Wilson, both deceased. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1970 and attended Emporia State University where she met her future husband, Richard Spencer. She and Richard were married on May 20, 1972. They had two wonderful children, Jeremy, Kansas City, and Lori, now deceased. They gave her seven awesome grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Keaton, Kelson, Isiah, Micha, and Esther. She had five brothers, Tom French, deceased, Jim Wilson, Laguna Niguel, CA, John Wilson, Centerville, OH, Jay Burgherr, Olathe, and Jerry Burgherr, St. Louis, MO. Kathy enjoyed working at H.L. Miller and Son as executive assistant and had been active in Iola Community Theatre for many years, backstage, acting, and directing. A celebration of Kathy''s life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Iola Community Theatre Warehouse Theatre.
