Kenneth C. Bolles

d. October 30, 2008

Kenneth Clyde Bolles, age 46, of Garnett, Kansas passed away October 30, 2008. Kenny was born September 3, 1962 at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Clyde H. and Joyce P. (Short) Bolles, joining sister, Linda and brothers, Mike and Curt. He attended grade school and junior high in Leeds, and graduated early from North High School in 1980 to join the United States Air Force. Kenny worked for nearly twenty years as a welding inspector for SOR Controls of Lenexa, Kansas. An active and loud Democrat (who still endorses Barack Obama for President and a straight Democratic ticket), Kenny carried on his parents' political activity, volunteering for campaigns as far back as Carter-Mondale in 1980. Kenny was a founder of the liberal blog DubyaD40.com, which lampoons all things conservative, and for which he wrote a weekly column under the pseudonym "Clyde the Nascar Liberal". Decorum prohibits reprinting in this space anything Kenny ever wrote. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, and is celebrated by his sister and brothers, three nephews, two nieces, two sisters-in-law, eight great-nieces and nephews, numerous aunts and uncles, a horde of cousins; various adopted family members and an army of web fans. A prayer service for Kansas City friends and family will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W. 75th Street, Overland Park, Kansas, Rev. James "Bo" Crowe officiating. The family will greet friends from 7:00-9:00 PM, Monday evening at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will follow a 1:00 PM funeral service on Election Day at the funeral, Rev. Merrill G. Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the National Arthritis Foundation ( www.arthritis.org ) in Kenny's name.
