Kenneth L. Dunlap Sr., age 61, of Colony, Kansas passed away, October 7, 2008 at his home in Colony. Kenneth was born August 5, 1947 at Garnett, Kansas, the son of Dee Milton Dunlap and Marjorie (Croan) Dunlap. He grew up in Kincaid, Strong City and Wellsville, Kansas. He graduated from Wellsville High School, later entering the Navy. Following his time in the service he moved to Fort Scott where he met his wife. On January 7, 1967 he married Connie Vanderslice in Wichita, Kansas. He received an accounting degree from Wichita Business College. He later took courses from Allen County Community College. While in Wichita Kenneth was the service manager for Don Hattan Chevrolet. The family lived in Wichita until moving to Fort Scott in 1980. Kenneth worked as the service manager at Kipper Chevrolet in Pleasanton, Kansas until 1984. In 1986 they moved to their current residence in Colony, Kansas. Kenneth enjoyed collecting junk and spending time fishing and playing with his grandkids. Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie, and two granddaughters Amanda and Emily Dunlap. He is survived by his wife, Connie of the home; three sons, Ray Dunlap and fianc, Sammye Holloway, of Chanute, Kansas, Billy Dunlap, of Fairview, Kansas, and Ken Dunlap Jr., and wife Krisha, of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, April Dixon and husband Richard, of Chanute, Kansas; five grandchildren, Joey Dunlap, Anthony Dunlap, Misty Dixon, Adrian Dunlap, and Levi Dunlap; his father, Dee Dunlap of Leon, Kansas; a sister, Donna Perkins and husband Gary of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter-in-law Christina Dunlap of LaHarpe, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Colony Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to help defray funeral expenses.
