Kenneth Leon "Tarz" French, 74, of LeRoy, Kansas died Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas. Kenneth was born May 10, 1936, in LeRoy, Kansas the son of George Washington Charles and Delora Maria (Radford) French. He grew up in LeRoy and graduated from LeRoy High School. While in high school he worked for the Standard Station and the Alfalfa Mill in LeRoy. On July 31, 1960, Kenneth married Elizabeth May Rogers at Caney, Kansas and they made their home on a farm east of LeRoy. He worked in Iola for several businesses including I.M.P. Boats, Dale Wichman Ford, Midwest Auto Parts, Guatney Motors, Mobil Service and Auto Zone. Throughout his life he enjoyed cars by trading, buying, selling, and working on them. He also enjoyed his woodworking projects and making art out of Little Debbie boxes. SURVIVORS: His wife: Betty French of the home 1 Son: Kevin Lee French and his wife, Laurie of Stansbury Park, Utah 3 Grandchildren: Clayton, Adrienne and Justin 1 Brother: Espin "Ep" French of Scipio, Kansas 1 Sister: Geraldine "Jerry" Willard of Topeka, Kansas He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, George W. "Jack", Claude W., Leonard H. and Lillard E. "Sonny" French, and by 3 sisters, Opal J. Quiggle, Mildred O. "Millie" Sharrei and Lorean N. Smith. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the First Assembly of God in LeRoy, Kansas. The Rev. Charles Patterson will officiate.
