Kenneth Lester Raymond, age 92, of Garnett, Kansas, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at his home. Kenneth was born December 13, 1914 at Garnett, Kansas, the son of the late John Merton Raymond and the late Iva May (Tyler) Raymond. Kenneth married Margaret Rockers on October 27, 1943, at Scipio, Kansas. She predeceased him on April 19, 2005. He served as a Sea Bee in the Navy during WWII. He was injured in the battle at Guadacanal. He farmed in the Garnett area all of his life. He was a member of the St. Boniface Church, and was an avid reader. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose Lee Sneegas; and a niece, Patricia Sneegas. He is survived by one sister, Rhoda Mae Raymond of Garnett, Kansas; two nieces, Pam Karlin and Patti Haley of Baldwin City, Kansas; three nephews, John Rockers of Duluth, Georgia; Gary Rockers of Burleson, Texas; and Mike W. Rockers of Greeley, Kansas; and one sister-in-law, Teresa Rockers of Greeley, Kansas. A wake service and rosary will be held on Wednesday evening starting at 7:00 pm at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 219 S. Oak P.O. Box 408, Garnett, Kansas. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rt 1, Scipio, Kansas, with Father Emil Agostino officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio, Kansas.
