Kevin Swepston

Kevin Duane Swepston, 55, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his home. Kevin was born January 6, 1960 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of Harold Eugene and Bertie (Vanderpool) Swepston. He grew up in the Hutchinson area, moving to Iola in February 2006. He worked as the pressman for Iola Register Printing. Kevin was active in Little League and Boy Scouts when his children were growing up. He was a Certified Hunter Safety Instructor. On January 13, 2006, Kevin married Becky L. Harper. She survives as do 3 children, Dustin Swepston & wife Eva of Sweden, Sara Swepston of Wichita, KS and Aaron Swepston of Hutchinson, KS; 1 brother, Kent Swepston & wife, Steph of Glenpool, OK; 2 sisters, Karen Brown & husband, John of Hutchinson, KS and Kathy McEwan & husband, Mike of Moran, KS; 7 grandchildren, Karic, Kaytlyn, Maddie, Rowan, Harold, Agnes and Avery; many nieces and nephews and his beloved hound, Cleo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL VISITATION: 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2015, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. A private family inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park in Hutchinson at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF).
