Kim Alan Laymon, 55, of Iola passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home following a two and a half month battle with brain cancer. He was born April 16, 1962 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Kenny Wayne Laymon and Karen Sue (Freeman) Smith. He grew up in Neosho Falls, Kansas and graduated from Iola High School. He had a passion for horses, he enjoyed attending auctions, and spending time with his family as well as his church family. He is survived by his wife, Danna, of the home, four daughters, Sue Ellen Warren and husband, David, of Iola, Tonnie Parker and Nathan, of Iola, Kylie Renfro and husband, Josh of Lawrence, Kansas, and Tereasa Laymon and husband, Paul, of Coffeyville, Kansas, four sons, Paul Laymon and wife, Britney, of Dawsonville, Georgia, Parker Laymon and wife, Jessica, of Madison, Alabama, Riley Laymon and Crystyl of Iola, and Brett Wempe of the home, fourteen grandchildren, his parents, and one brother, Michael Laymon and wife, Mary, of Yates Center, Kansas. His service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Bible Fellowship Church in Iola. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery at Iola.
