Larry J. Peine, age 81, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society, Olathe, Kansas.
He was born December 16, 1940, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Aaron and Maxine (Peters) Peine. Larry graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1958. He married Sandra K. Shaw on November 20, 1971, this union was blessed with four children.
Larry grew up on a farm and farmed that same land until 1983. Larry and Sandi ran the City Café in Garnett from 1979 to 1986. He worked at Components Truss Company in Garnett, as a foreman for many years, then at Ottawa Truck as a welder, retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, watching grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports, western movies, was a history buff, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Maxine Peine; one brother, Dale Peine; two nephews, Russell Schwegman and Kevin Brock.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sandi Peine of the home; four children, Tara Florentin and husband Les of Ottawa, Kansas, J.J. Peine and wife Sandy of Gardner, Kansas, Derek Peine and wife Sarah of Hays, Kansas, Preston Peine and wife Erika of Katy, Texas; ten grandchildren, Shelby (Scotty), Nick, Kaylen, Morgan (Dylan), Tanner, Max, Devin, Addie, Izzy, and Gus; four great grandchildren, Italia, Lillie, Tamsin, and Emerson; one brother, Dean Peine and wife Cheri of Oswego, Kansas; three sisters, Marie Brock and husband Jerry of Richmond, Kansas, Ruthann Tonak and husband Dennis of Roscoe, Illinois, and Joyce Catt of Garnett, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Janice McGie of Surprise Arizona, Connie Peine of Welda; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, with burial following in the Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chamber Players Community Theater in Garnett.
