Lawrence E. "Larry" Diebolt, age 68, of Welda, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Larry was born on April 1, 1943, at San Diego, California, the son of Lawrence P. and Clara Maxine (Weide) Diebolt. He grew up in LaHarpe, Kansas and graduated from Iola High School. Larry served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and was stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage to Donna Shafer on February 28, 1969, in Iola, Kansas. This union was blessed with two daughters. Following his time in the service Larry returned to LaHarpe and worked at Diebolt Lumber for 35 years. Larry then moved to Welda, Kansas where he owned and operated the Old School Flea Market for 17 years. He enjoyed boating, camping, and collecting junk. His greatest joy was his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Kathy Diebolt. Larry is survived by his wife, Donna Diebolt, of the home; daughters Stephanie Graham and husband Doug of Seminole, Oklahoma; Sharon Hubbard and husband Chad of Garnett, Kansas; four grandchildren, Zach, Joseph, Jacob and Katelyn; sisters Gloria Rawlings of Pleasanton, Kansas, Diana David of Moran, Kansas, brother Don Diebolt of Iola, Kansas, Mary Botteron of Warsaw, Missouri, Carol McKinney of Prescott, Arizona, Pat Shankel of Shawnee, Kansas, Clara Guckes of Menifee, California, Sharon Hughes of Hillsdale, Kansas. Family graveside services were held at the Welda Cemetery in Welda, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colony Community Church and sent in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, PO BOX 408, Garnett, Kansas 66032.
