Larry Eugene Kress, age 74, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away January 18, 2023, at Medicalodges of Fort Scott, in Fort Scott, Kansas. Larry was born July 22, 1948, in Yates Center, Kansas, to Lawrence H. Kress and Rose (Sicka) Kress.
Larry graduated in 1966 from Iola High School. He attended college. Larry was a heavy equipment operator for Allen County Public Works Department, retiring after 22 years.
Larry served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned numerous awards, including a bronze star.
Larry and Cindy Jeffery were married October 5, 1991, in Iola, Kansas.
Larry was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, and taking care of his cattle.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Kress, Kenneth Kress; and sister, Bernita Heffern.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy, of the home; son, Larry John Kress; daughter, Angie Kerr; four grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service honoring Larry's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wings of Warriors, which may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
