Lawrence West

Lawrence Eldon West, 84, of rural Colony, Kansas, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas. Lawrence was born August 30, 1925, on a farm west of Colony, Kansas, the son of Logan Robert and Gertrude Belle (Shipley) West. He grew up on the family farm west of Colony and attended rural schools. On November 23, 1946, Lawrence married Donna Lorene Tippie in Iola, Kansas. They have always made their home west of Colony on the farm. He enjoyed all wildlife, especially feeding the birds, pet coons, deer and wild turkey. Lawrence was a member of the Northcott Church.
