Leah Ann Barnum

Leah Barnum, age 32, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Moran, Kansas as the result of a car accident. This accident also claimed the life of her unborn son, Hunter. She was born January 31, 1976 in Fort Myers, Florida, the daughter of Richard and Ruth Ann Barnum. She grew up in the Fort Myers area, moving to Kansas in 1994. In 1998 she earned her RN nursing degree from Mary Grimes School of Nursing in Chanute, Kansas. She was currently working as a nurse at Heartland Behavioral Health Services in Nevada, Missouri. Leah is survived by her fiance, Jerry Henderson of Iola, Kansas; daughter, Tabitha (age 13), son, Ranger (age 17 months); parents, Richard & Ruth Ann Barnum of Savonburg, Kansas; sister, Yvette Edgington and husband, David, of Moran, Kansas; and brother, Richard Barnum II of Savonburg, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Moran United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 7-8 PM, Thursday evening at the funeral home in Moran. Memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Education Fund.
