Leah W. Tomson

Leah Winona Tomson, age 87, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola. Leah was born May 5, 1932, in Iola, Kansas to Bithel and Mary (Kramer) Lorance.

Leah attended and graduated from Iola High School in 1950. Leah married Gene Tomson on May 15, 1952, in Huntsville, Arkansas they then made their home in Iola. Together Gene and Leah farmed and raised livestock west of Iola.

Leah and Gene enjoyed many years of boating, camping, traveling and watching NASCAR together. They also enjoyed watching their kids rodeo and show their horses. Once a year they enjoyed a yearly trip to Las Vegas with Doris and Junior, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Leah and Gene always made sure to follow their kids and grandkids activities. Leah was a long time member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola.

Leah was preceded in death by her husband Gene; her parents; and one sister.

Leah is survived by; three children, Jana Bowyer & husband, Chris of Emporia, KS, Marta Edwards & companion, Scott Crystal of Overland Park, KS and Kent Tomson & wife, Ronda of Iola; 5 grandchildren, Andy Bowyer, Clint Bowyer, Casey Bowyer, Aaron Edwards and Kylee DePrima, and eleven great grandchildren; one sister Doris Dickinson.

Funeral services for Leah will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 18, 2019, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iola. Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, in the Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.

Memorials in honor of Leah can be made to, Cavalry United Methodist Church and The American Heart Association, and can be left with the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
