Colton Lee Jones, age 24, of Moran, Kansas chose to go home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Colton was the second of three children born to Jamie and Debra (Dudley) Jones. He was born on September 7, 1992 at Fort Scott, Kansas. Colton grew up in Moran, and attended school there. He enlisted in the Kansas Army National Guard on June 30, 2011 at Iola, Kansas. Sargent Jones was a member of the 170th Maintenance Company, Wichita, Kansas. Colton was passionate about his service and took a great deal of pride in his achievements throughout his time in the military. In addition to serving his country in the National Guard, Colton pursued a welding career, attending Neosho County Community College. He loved all kinds of outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and just being around the animals and wildlife. In his younger years he enjoyed playing video games. He loved family gatherings, but was especially attached to his dog, Bear. His passing will create an opportunity for others to enjoy wild mushrooms, because Colton usually found them first.
