Lillian Lela Morey, age 87, of Garnett, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett. She was born December 6, 1920 in Richmond, Kansas, the daughter of Claude and May (Camp) Robinson. Lela grew up in Anderson County, except for a time when her family homesteaded in Canada, later returning to Anderson County where she lived most of her life in the Garnett area. She graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1940. Lela married Stanley Morey on September 1, 1940 in Girard, Kansas. This union was blessed with four children. Lela was a member of the First Christian Church, the Garnett VFW Auxiliary, and the Anderson County Hospital Auxiliary. She was well known for the animal pillows she made for patients at the hospital. She was a past 4-H Leader. She loved knitting and shared her talent with many people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and May Robinson; her husband, Stanley Morey, June 9, 1995; and one brother, Melvin Robinson and one son-in-law, Bud Alexander. She is survived by her son, Dale Morey and wife Karen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three daughters, Beverly Jean Alexander of Burlington, Kansas; Mary Ann Tindell and husband Lewis of Garnett, Kansas; Debbie Ramsey of Garnett, Kansas; two sisters, Ima Jean Marmon of Garnett, Kansas; and Evelyn Feuerborn of Paola, Kansas; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett; burial to follow at the Garnett Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
