Leon (Bud) Cady

Leon Edward (Bud) Cady, age 84, of Moran, Kansas, passed away July 15, 2023, at St. Luke's East Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri. Leon was born August 8, 1938, in Bronson, Kansas, to Claude Cady and Thelma (Wallgren) Cady.

Leon graduated in 1956 from Bronson High School. Leon married Sherry Stewart and they later divorced. He married Carol Watts and they divorced. Leon and Tammy Klubek were married January 11, 2008, in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.

Leon worked for Williams Brothers Pipeline, IMP Boats in Iola, and Allen County Road and Bridge Department.

Leon loved animals, especially riding horses. He liked to dance, spend time with friends and family, trail rides, and camping. Leon always had stories and jokes to tell. His grandkids were his world.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Claude Lee Cady; and sister, Colleen M. Hayes.

Leon is survived by sons, Mitchell (Amy) Cady, Brad Cady; step-daughter, MaRyiah Cavender; former wife and friend, Tammy (Rick) Barkdoll; grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) McKeating, Tyler Cady, Dairedee Burris, Johnathon (Jayme) Burris, Alanis Stine, Rook Cavender; great-grandchildren, Maverick McKeating, Archer McKeating, Kyleigh Burris, Garrett Burris, Elaina Burris, Ivy Kinder; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas. Burial with military honors will follow in Bronson Cemetery, Bronson, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
