Lester L. Oswald, 70, of Shawnee, Kansas, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at his home. Lester was born August 6, 1939, in Reading, Pennsylvania, the son of John Jack and Beulah (Burkert) Oswald. He grew up at Redding and joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years. On December 27, 1958, Lester married Shirley A. Shreck at her parent's home in Colony, Kansas. After his honorable discharge from the service, they made their home in Topeka where he worked for A.B. Dick Printing. In 1969, they moved to Shawnee where he continued working for A.B. Dick Printing out of Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed owning and restoring antique cars, going to car shows, fishing and bowling. Lester was a member of the Good Guys Car Club. SURVIVORS: His wife of 51 years: Shirley A. Oswald of the home 2 Sons: Roger Oswald & his wife, Debbie of Colony, KS and Robert Oswald and his wife, Sue of Overland Park, KS 3 Granddaughters: Dana, Laura & Lori 5 Great Grandchildren: Jaydyn, Payton, Jaycee, Hanna and Collyn He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Colony Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Bubna will officiate.
