Lloyd Ermon "Jones" Sutton, Jr., age 75, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at St. Luke's Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born January 27, 1942, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Lloyd E. Sutton Sr. and Alberta Josephine Flores. Lloyd began working for Hank Doering Sr. at Double H Ranch after his sophomore year for several years before starting his career for the City of Garnett in June 1962. He worked at the city power plant before transferring to the parks department, where he became the superintendent. Lloyd retired from the City on April 1, 1999. Lloyd joined the National Guards and served for six years. He had a passion for farming and his cattle was his life. After retirement, Lloyd farmed for Dudley and Bill Feuerborn for numerous years and when Bill's Quick Shop opened, he was hired for maintenance and enjoyed visiting with acquaintances, new and old. He continued his employment at Sandra's Quick Shop. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Alberta Sutton; one brother, Vernon Sutton; one nephew, David Tush; and one great nephew, Ronald Tush Jr. He is survived by two brothers, Dean Sutton and wife Lynne of Rantoul, Kansas; Gerald Sutton and wife Janell of Garnett, Kansas; two sisters, Jacquelyn Hill and husband Jim of Colony, Kansas; Janice Meyer and husband Edward of Garnett, Kansas; his dog, Angel, and a host of extended family and friends. The family is so distraught that he had to leave them in such a tragic way. This gentle, loving brother will be truly missed by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, with burial to follow in the Garnett Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday evening, July 14, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lloyd Sutton Memorial Fund.
