Lois Heinrich, 96, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at Tara Gardens in Iola. Lois was born November 22, 1916, in Iola, the daughter of Frank and Sylvia (Cox) Heinrich. She grew up on a farm northeast of Carlyle. In 1942 she began working for the Greyhound Bus Line in Independence, KS. She worked there for seven years before taking a similar job with them in Tulsa. In 1962, she returned to Iola to care for her mother. She worked for the bus terminal at the Kelley Hotel in Iola until it closed. She then began working at the Allen County Clerks Office where she worked for 13 years retiring in 1982. SURVIVORS: Niece: Frances Poffenbarger Nephews: Raymond Heinrich and James Heinrich She was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Heinrich and sister, Wilna Sprague. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
