Lola Jean Turley, 82, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Iola, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Lola Jean was born March 12, 1928, at Colony, Kansas, the daughter of George and Ella Louise (Keyser) Cline. She graduated from Iola High School where she was the lettergirl "I" in the marching band. She worked for the J.C. Penney Company and the Fairmont Creamery in Iola. On April 10, 1948, Lola Jean married Jim H. Turley and they made their home briefly in Iola before moving to Kansas City, Kansas. Jim preceded her in death on July 28, 2010. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Mark Turley of Gardner, KS and Rick Turley of Parkville, MO 1 Daughter: Karen Kay Corbett of Albuquerque, NM 1 Half-Sister: Eilene Adams of Yates Center, KS 6 Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Cline, half-brother Earl Cline, and half-sisters Bernita Oelker and Barbara "Bobbie" Smith. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the LaHarpe Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola at 1:00 p.m. before leaving for the cemetery.
