Lorraine Lamb, age 89 of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at St. Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas. Lorraine was born on August 23, 1920 at Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Reubin Earl and Frances Alma (Weir) Davis. She grew up in the area and graduated from high school in Pittsburg. She was united in marriage to Charles Edmond Lamb on February 3, 1939 at Lamar, Missouri. This union was blessed with three children. Lorraine was a homemaker. She also worked at the Anderson County Hospital, in the kitchen and laundry departments. Lorraine later took on sewing projects in her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and growing plants and flowers. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and elephants. Lorraine and Charles spent many years raising Doberman and German Shepherd dogs. Lorraine loved making Charles' woodworking scraps into gifts for the grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on December 4, 1985; her parents; her brother, Russell Davis and her sister, Flora Belle Cline. Lorraine is survived by her son Charles E. "Ed" Lamb, and wife Mary, of Osawatomie, Kansas; her daughters, Jessie Dunlop, and husband Ray, of Parker, Kansas, and Frances Carlton, and husband Duane, of Yuma, Arizona; 8 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren. She will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home in Garnett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Her family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation.
