Richard Louis Weber, age 83, of Iola, Kansas, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 15, 2019. Lou was born July 3, 1935, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Louis Weber and Helen (Hassler) Weber. Lou attended school in Kansas City prior to joining the United States Marine Corp, where he served his country for four years. Lou was a lifetime member of the Iola American Legion Post 15. Lou and Shirley Marten were married on January 21, 2015, in Nevada, Missouri. Lou worked for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri, for 35 years, then retired to Iola, Kansas. Lou enjoyed watching television and riding his lawnmower. He liked to collect Marine Corp memorabilia. Lou was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Zola Goldizen; brother, John Weber; and grandson, Parker Riley Weber. Lou is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; sons, Bill Weber and wife, Chakri, Lubbock, Texas, David Weber, Atlanta, Georgia; grandson, Michael Weber, Lubbock, Texas; sister, Mary; and nephew, Rick Singers and wife, Cheryl, Overland Park, Kansas.
