Lydia H. (Bontrager) Yoder, age 104, of Garnett, Kansas, and formerly of Shipshewana, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at her home. She was born June 10, 1912, at Hutchinson, Kansas, to the late Harry D. and Susan (Miller) Bontrager. On March 11, 1931, in Hutchinson, she married Felty S. Yoder who preceded her in death on January 25, 2000. They had nine children. Surviving of the children are Adin (Anne) Yoder of Middlebury, Indiana; Clara (Lonnie) Yoder of Hamilton Missouri; Willie (Gail) Yoder of Apache Junction, Arizona; Gertie (LaVern) Burkholder of Garnett, Kansas; Olen (Treva) Yoder of Goshen, Indiana. Lydia had 34 grandchildren, Timmy and Michelle died. 106 great grandchildren, three died, and 40 great-great grandchildren. Three sons passed away, Merle, Harry and Felty Junior; one daughter, Ruby Eash; two son-in-laws, Harvey Eash and Charlie Hawks; Lydia’s parents, and all of her siblings, Daniel, Samuel, Gertrude, Ammon, Andrew, Eli, Mary, Benedict, and Harry Jr. Lydia was a homemaker and a member of the old order Amish Church. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 27, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas. Another visitation and funeral will be held in Indiana at a later date. Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett and Miller-Stewart Funeral Home of Middlebury, Indiana, are handling the arrangements.
