Madge Schell

Madge Schell, 84, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola. Madge was born February 1, 1928, on a farm in Wilson County, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Georgia (Wiltse) Dunaway. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1946, and then from cosmetology school at Emporia. She worked several years as a beautician. On October 22, 1950, Madge married Joe A. Schell in Chanute, Kansas. They made their home in Iola. In 1955, they moved to Estes Park, Colorado, until returning to Iola in 1964. They owned and operated Schell Dry Cleaners for a number of years. Mr. Schell preceded her in death on September 5, 1999. She was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Terri Lyn Ryno & husband, Barney of Independence, KS 2 Granddaughters: Natalie Jo Flood & husband, Glen and Kimberly Lyn Hart 1 Great-Grandson: Aiden 4 Nieces & 2 Nephews She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Dunaway. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Highland Cemetery in Iola. Rev. Jan Chubb officiating.
