Mae Marie Linson, age 78, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility in Garnett, Kansas. Marie was born on December 14, 1932, in Purdy, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Blair) Roller. She grew up in the Purdy and Monett areas until her family moved to Wyoming when she was 9. After a year in Wyoming they moved to Kansas, living in the Olathe and Overland Park area. She was united in marriage to Houston E. "Ted" Linson in March of 1952. This union was blessed with four children. In 1959 the family moved to Linn County, Kansas, living in the Parker and Centerville area. Following her divorce Marie moved to Garnett in 1977. Marie then started working as a C.N.A.; working at Parkview Estates in Garnett, Arkhaven in Iola, and then at Long Term Care in Garnett until retiring in 1992. She attended the Assembly of God Church until her health would not allow. She enjoyed collecting Indian and Southwest items and bells. Marie loved to cook and bake foods that she would give to people. She also enjoyed traveling and going to dog and horse races. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and going on long walks with them. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Glenn Roller. She is survived by two sons, Edward Linson of Garnett; Robin Linson of Borger, Texas; two daughters, Angela Miller and husband Kelsey of Garnett, Kansas; Lena Trumbly and husband Mark of Fritch, Texas; two brothers, Bob Roller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lee Roller and wife Marian of Osawatomie, Kansas; three sisters, Bonnie LaGalle and husband Carl of Gas, Kansas; Alice Jeffress of Baldwin City, Kansas; Mildred Nevenski of Detroit Michigan; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Goodrich Cemetery in Goodrich, Kansas. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Anderson County Long Term Care Facility.
