Malvin Steele

Malvin B. Steele, 83, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Malvin was born February 25, 1931 in Cheyenne County, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy. In 1972, he married Charlene M. Holton and they moved to Iola in 1973 from Concordia. He worked at I.M.P. Boats in Iola. Charlene preceded him in death in 1989. He was a member of the Iola Elks Lodge. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Jerry Steele & fiancé Stacy Thouvenell of Chanute, Kansas, and Malvin Junior "Bud" Steele of Nebraska Companion: Betty Yoho 3 Grandchildren & 12 Step-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife and son, Timothy Steele. VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Inurnment will be in the Nelson Cemetery southeast of Concordia, Kansas, at a later date.
