Margaret F. Karr, 81, of rural Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Moran Manor. Margaret was born November 27, 1930, on the family farm at Piqua, Kansas, the daughter of John C. and Mary (Bruggeman) Weber. The family moved from Piqua to a farm northeast of Humboldt where she attended school. On November 29, 1952, Margaret married Roy C. Karr at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Humboldt. They made their home on farms near Humboldt until 1968 when they bought their farm southwest of LaHarpe. Mr. Karr preceded her in death on May 5, 2007. Margaret was known for her baking - especially pies and pumpkin bread. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her dogs. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Iola, and a social club in her neighborhood. SURVIVORS: Her 4 Children: Karen "Susie" Karr of Canton, Ohio, Paul D. Karr of Iola, KS, John L. Karr & wife, Patricia, of Humboldt, KS, and Clifford L. Karr of LaHarpe, KS 3 Sisters: Pauline Riebel of Humboldt, KS, Eleanor Riebel of Iola, KS, and her twin, Marjorie Riebel of LaHarpe, KS 2 Grandchildren: Maggie D. Karr and Dalton R. Karr 1 Great Granddaughter: Alexandra She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Dakota Karr, a brother, Leo Weber and two sisters, Helena Weber and Theresa Riebel. VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. ROSARY & MASS: The parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola, followed by the celebration of the mass at 10:30 a.m. BURIAL: Moran Cemetery, Moran, KS MEMORIAL: St. John's Catholic Church Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
