Margaret E. Myers

Margaret Ellen Myers, age 89, of Rose Hill, Kansas, formerly of Elsmore, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at her home in Rose Hill. Margaret was born July 13, 1921 near Humboldt, Kansas, the daughter of Leslie and Fern (Dewey) Baker. She was a graduate of Elsmore High School. During WWII she worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant at Parsons. On April 6, 1947 she married Arthur A. Myers at Chanute, Kansas. This union was blessed with 2 sons, four grandchildren and one great grandson. She attended the Elsmore United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur on August 2, 1999 and sister Elnora Adams. Margaret is survived by her sons, Leslie Myers (Cheryl) of Derby, Kansas and Wayne Myers (Diane) of Derby, Kansas; four grandchildren Stacey, Kristi, Nathan (Amanda) and Matt: one great grandson, Tyler and a brother Kenneth Baker of Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Elsmore United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Elsmore Cemetery. The family will greet friends from the Rose Hill area at the Rose Hill Senior Citizen Center from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Sunday evening. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the funeral home in Moran. Memorial contributions are suggested to Elsmore United Methodist Church.
